Lemon juice is sour in taste. It quenches thirst, helps in digestion, increases perspiration, cleans kidneys. It acts as diuretic, cures diseases of elementary canals, purifies blood, imparts strength to the heart and controls bile, cough and wind. Let us see Lemon and its uses.

Digestive Problem

Lemon Juice taken early in the morning with lukewarm water helps in comfortable cleansing of bowels and thereby increases the appetite.

Cold

Lemon Juice taken in warm water with little salt helps in curing running nose.

Nausea

Lemon juice taken with little salt (black), powdered black pepper, cumin and ajwain or carom in a glass of water relieves nausea.

Headache

Lemon Juice taken in tea (without milk and sugar) relieves headache.

Obesity

Lemon Juice taken in lukewarm water early in the morning reduces obesity.

General Tonic

Lemon juice in fresh water with honey strengthens body, heart and tones up the muscles.

Diarrhoea

·         Lemon juice in tea without milk and sugar checks diarrhoea.
·         Juice of one lemon in 300 ml water taken four or five times a day cures diarrhoea.

Piles

Paste of lemon leaves with little sugar taken early in the morning checks piles.

Enlarged Liver

Take 1 litre lemon juice, 100ml ginger juice, 10 gms. salt, 20 gms. cumin, 5 gms. asafoetida.
Roast cumin and asafoetida. Powder them. Mix with salt, juice of lemon and ginger. Store in a bottle. Having 3 to 8 gms. early in the morning helps in curing enlarged liver, increases appetite and cures all digestive problems.

Blisters in Mouth

Taking lemon juice with either soda or juice of orange or pomegranate cures blisters in mouth.

Cholera

Take lemon juice in glass of water. Add Rock Sugar. Drinking this mix in morning and afternoon prevents cholera.

Bleeding from Nose

·         Put fresh lemon juice with dropper in the nostrils. It helps in controlling the blood flow.
·         Make a paste of lemon juice mixed with Barley flour. Apply it on the forehead once or twice. This helps in controlling blood flow from nose.

Throat Problems

Drinking hot lemon juice with honey helps in curing throat problems.

Dandruff, Hair Problems

Apply lemon juice mixed with multani mitti or besan (Gram Flour) on the head. Wash the hair 3 or 4 times with this mixture. This checks dandruff, hair falling and itching on the scalp.

Uses of Lemon Tree Leaves

·         Chewing 3-4 Lemon Tree leaves 3 times a day helps in curing cough, bile, vomiting.
·         Make a paste of leaves and mix it with sugar. Have them early in the morning. This cures diarrhoea, dysentery and even piles.
·         Inhaling smell of burnt dry leaves cures hiccups and headache.
·         Burning dried leaves in room helps check mosquitos and insects.
