Asafoetida or hing makes an important part of Indian Cuisine. It is especially used in curries and dals.
It is latex gum extracted from various species of a perennial herb known as ferula.
It has a prominent place in traditional medicine. It has carminative, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, sedative and diuretic properties.

Helps Relieve Asthma

Asafoetida or Hing has anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-biotic effects. It can help in relieving respiratory disorders like asthma, bronchitis, dry cough.
Prepare a paste using asafoetida and water. Apply on your chest. It is useful in reducing chest congestion and releasing phlegm.
To get relief from respiratory issues consume a mixture made from asafoetida, dry ginger powder along with some honey.

It may Lower Blood Pressure Levels

Asafoetida or Hing is known to be a natural blood thinner. It may help in lowering blood pressure levels. It is packed with coumarin compound that aids in improving blood flow thus preventing formation of clots.
